Quiltworx University: Plan Your Project

Inside the event portal on your Dashboard, you’ll find project templates created specifically for your Quiltworx University event.

During the Project Planning phase, choose a template, customize it if desired and save your project to your account. Whether you make only a few fabric changes or create a completely unique colorway, the goal is to have a saved project ready when the Ordering Phase begins.

Template Options: Choose a Project

Blank Templates

These templates provide a completely blank starting point for your project. They contain no line designs and are organized by the finished size of the quilt. These Mixer layouts allow you to select your own block designs for each section of the quilt, giving you the freedom to create a truly custom design before adding fabric.

    • Start with the blank option in the size you want to make
    • Choose block designs
    • Choose your own fabrics

Pre-colored Templates

These are completed projects that can be kitted as shown. If you’d like to use one as your event kit, simply create a project and save it to your account. You may keep the project exactly as it is or customize it to suit your preferences, the choice is yours.

  • Ready-to-use colorways (kits designed by Quiltworx)
  • Great starting points if you love the sample shown
  • Can be saved immediately or customized further

Customize Your Project

The Project Planning Phase is your opportunity to explore ideas and create the project you’d like to make at Quiltworx University.

Take your time and explore the possibilities. You’ll have several weeks to refine your project before the Ordering Phase begins.

Don't Worry About Inventory Yet

During the Project Planning Phase, your goal is simply to create the project you love. Fabric inventory is not finalized until the Ordering Phase begins, so inventory notifications may not accurately reflect what will be available for the event.

When Quiltworx announces that ordering is open, you’ll review your project’s fabric availability and make any necessary substitutions before placing your order. We’ll walk you through that process during the Ordering Phase.

Event Fabrics Only

The fabrics available within the Quiltworx University environment have been carefully selected by the hosting quilt shop specifically for this event. Because project kits are prepared from these fabrics, personal fabric uploads are not available within the Quiltworx University planning environment.

Feel free to explore and experiment with the available fabrics as you create your project. Any fabric displayed within the event portal is eligible for use in your event project.

Please note, the My Fabrics & My Favorites functionalities are not available for workshops.
