Curious how your pattern becomes an interactive Quiltster project? The process is simple. Send us your pattern, we’ll handle the technical work and you’ll have the opportunity to review and approve everything before it goes live.

What We Need to Get Started

Sending in Your Patterns

Getting started is easy. Simply send us a PDF of your complete pattern, including:

  • Cover page
  • Instructions
  • Yardage information
  • Templates or foundation papers
  • Any additional pages included with the pattern

Once we receive your pattern, we’ll review it and provide an estimated turnaround time for digitization.

What Happens After You Send Your Pattern

Once we receive your pattern, our team takes care of the technical work required to transform your design into an interactive experience inside Quiltster.

Here’s what happens next.

Pattern Digitization

Our digitization team professionally recreates your pattern as an interactive Quiltster project.

We build the layout, define block and color groups, create yardage calculations and configure everything needed for quilters to customize your design inside the Quilt Planner.

Our typical turnaround time is about two weeks, depending on our current workload and the complexity of the pattern. Some projects move through the process more quickly. After reviewing your submission, we’ll provide an estimated completion date so you know exactly what to expect.

Before your pattern reaches you, we perform a complete internal review to ensure everything functions properly and reflects your original design as accurately as possible.

Pattern Review & Approval

Once digitization is complete, you’ll receive a private review link to your pattern in Quiltster.

This is your opportunity to verify that everything matches your pattern instructions and design intent. During this review, you’ll check:

  • Overall appearance and layout
  • Line design and structure
  • Block groups and color groupings
  • Yardage calculations for the quilt top, backing, and binding*

*Quiltster rounds yardage up to the nearest ⅛ yard.

You’ll also create a simple test project to confirm that fabrics, colors and calculations behave as expected.

If revisions are needed, we’ll make adjustments and send the pattern back for review. Once you’re satisfied, simply send us your written approval and we’ll move forward with publishing.

Pattern Publishing

After approval, your pattern is published to Quiltster!

Quiltster subscribers can fully customize your design within the Quilt Planner, experiment with fabrics and build familiarity with your brand in a new and memorable way. 

Your pattern will also be added to the public Quilt Pattern library, where all website visitors can learn more about the design and click through to your website to purchase the pattern directly from you. (view example here)

To help introduce your work to the Quiltster community, we’ll announce you as a new Quiltster Designer and feature your patterns through our marketing channels whenever possible.

Sharing Your Pattern

One of the best ways to maximize the value of your Quiltster partnership is by sharing your patterns with your audience.

We ask Designer Partners to:

  • Share at least one Quiltster-related social media post per month
  • Include a direct link to their Quiltster pattern page
  • Tag @quiltsterinc and use #QuiltsterPattern

We also encourage partners to display the “Quiltster Compatible” badge on their websites and pattern pages, linking customers directly to their pattern in Quiltster.

The more quilters discover and interact with your patterns in Quiltster, the more opportunities you create for engagement, visibility and pattern sales.
