How to Submit Your Designs
Submitting your patterns is simple and we’ll guide you every step of the way.
Quick Start Steps
- Complete the Pattern Designer Agreement
- Submit your pattern using the Pattern Submission Form
- We review your pattern and provide a turnaround estimate
- We digitize your design
- You review and approve your pattern
- We publish and share it with our audience and you share it with yours
What to Submit
Send your pattern through our Pattern Submission Form.
Please attach your complete pattern PDF, including:
- Cover page
- Instructions
- Yardage chart
- Any additional pages needed to fully understand the design
Start with Your Best Sellers
We recommend starting with your top three best-selling patterns.
These are the designs your customers already love and they tend to perform especially well inside Quiltster.
From there, you can continue submitting new releases each year to keep your collection fresh.
What Happens Next
Once your pattern is submitted, our team will:
- Review your design
- Assess complexity
- Provide an estimated turnaround time for digitization
All patterns are processed in the order they’re received, so getting in the queue early is always a good idea.
Digitization & Review
When your pattern is ready, we’ll send you a private link to review everything before it goes live.
You’ll be able to:
- Check layout and structure
- Review color groupings
- Confirm yardage calculations
If it’s your first time, we’re happy to:
- Walk through it with you together
- Or provide a free video call tutorial so you can review on your own time
Nothing is published without your approval.
Publishing & Promotion
Once approved, your pattern is published in the Quilt Planner and made available to Quiltster subscribers.
We’ll spread the word by sharing your pattern through our:
- Website
- Email newsletters
- Social media channels
We’ll help spread the word but the real magic happens when you share it with your audience, too. This gives your design added visibility and helps connect it with quilters who are actively planning projects.
Pattern Contribution & Digitization Details
As part of the Pattern Designer Partnership:
- You’ll send in 3–5 patterns per year
- Quiltster will digitize up to 5 patterns at no cost
Additional patterns beyond the initial five:
- $120 per pattern for standard designs
- More complex patterns may require additional setup and will be quoted in advance
All additional work is reviewed and approved by you before moving forward.
If you’re actively promoting Quiltster and helping grow our subscriber base, you may be eligible for waived digitization fees on additional patterns. This is determined on a case by case basis.
